‘Hubrolia’ is a photobook featuring my late grandfather’s photographic work from over the years. Stumbling upon a harddrive during christmas 2023 I was confronted with an extensive collection of never-before-seen photos my grandfather had captured from his daily life, various outings in the neighbourhood, his birthplace, and during different trips. I compiled and sequenced a selection of found photos and journal notes in a book to produce new meanings and to represent my grandfathers life from the last 20 years before his passing.
The book follows a concept using information from files metadata to give better context to each photo, allowing different ways to experience the book wheter the viewer knew my grandfather or not.

I'm Theodor (22), a graphic designer and occasional photographer currently undergoing studies at Kristiania/Westerdals. My interest centers around brand identities, books, editorial design, and more recently type design. Though I’am constantly searching for new challenges, methods and contexts to fuel my work. An admirer of the craft and a believer that great ideas come to life through collaboration and meticulous craftsmanship.
